Using the iStep system, a foot image can be generated from either a postural (standing) or dynamic (walking) test. so you can recommend the most appropriate orthotic system based on the patient's specific foot type. After readings are viewed on the screen, there is an option to print or burn the results onto a CD.
Postural (Static)
During the postural examination the iStep software culculates pressure distribution and average for eahc foot, and isolates the area of maximum pressure. The test runs for 30 secondsand color-coded pressure points are displayed for the plantar aspect of the foot. The images can be viewed in either two or three dimensions.
Dymanic
During the dynamic examination, foot pressurs are analyzed throughout every stage of the gait cycle. The software calculates pressure distribution and average for each foot, while indentifying the center of gravity and the areas of maximum pressure. The dynamic system enables a practitioner to maintain a database of important information. Comparisions between current and previous tests can be displayed on the screen simultaneously. the images can be viewed in either two or three dimensions.
